I have workflows that contain subtasks nested inside main tasks at various stages of the project. This is an essential requirement for my organsation’s workflows.
I have just realised that Asana subtask dates don’t ‘move’ when the dates of the main task move (a major omission when compared to pretty much every single other option in the market).
So my dilemma:
Enter specific dates for each subtask regardless, and have to manually update each of them when the main dates move?
OR
Leave the subtasks with no specific dates, but that means they will never come up in search results (and therefore any custom reporting), everyone’s ‘My Tasks’ lists, and pretty much all dashboard charts/graphs/etc.
Is there a feasible way out of this?
Thank you.
You can set dependencies and use this to shift dates:

Thanks,

But that only works for dependent tasks. I am referring to subtasks nested inside a main task.
In case it wasn’t clear, subtasks can participate in dependencies too, which would be needed to achieve the effect you’re looking for.
