Stop Email Notification

Hello,

When I create an assigned task for a worker, is there anyway to shut off the email notifications that the person being assigned will receive ? The emails are overloading our inboxes and it would be extremely helpful to stop that feature.

Hi
Yes you can stop email notifications, just follow the instructions here:

You should definitely use the Asana Inbox and disable emails

Is there a way to disable task assignment email notifications for a guest member, or batch them?

I’m looking into using Asana for a client, and I don’t want to spam them with a bunch of emails for each task I assign to them. Ideally, these could be batched and sent daily (or weekly), or I could just send them manually.

In general, it would be very useful if activity updates could be batched and sent daily or weekly.

Is there a way to do this in Asana?

To clarify (sorry for the spam, I can’t find a way to edit the original post), either having the option of batching activity updates or disabling them altogether for another user (a guest in my organization) would solve my problem.

Totally Agree

Apologies for the late follow-up @Andres_Riofrio! As @Julien_RENAUD mentioned, it is possible to disable email notifications, but everyone can only do it for their own account, you cannot do it on the behalf of someone else.

Hope this helps!

Is this feature going to be added? I have a handful of clients who do not want to spam them whenever we make a change to an assignment. I would like to disable the automatic notifications for them, so they don’t all need to go in and do it themselves. Thanks.

We’re having the same issue. Clients have started to refuse to use the platform because their bombarded by emails that don’t have anything to do with the specific tasks they were assigned.

The problem, as we see it, is that if you remove the client from the project and only add them at the task level, they don’t know/can’t see what’s going on with the rest of the project. But if they are added at the project level, they receive emails every time Joe, Bob, or Sue completes one of their tasks.

We are firm believers in task dependencies and automation using the rules. What we’d really like to see is an option where the client (or any staff member) was only sent an email notification when the preceding tasks were finished and their task was ready to be started.

Also have this question: We started using Asana about a year ago, and abandoned it, and tried to start again recently; but the deluge of emails for every single activity is a deal-breaker for some members of our team. There must be some way to work around this that I am missing?

Use the Asana Inbox for starters, much easier to deal with than emails
