Showing subtasks in a Project's list view

In one of our projects, we use List View filtered to show tasks Due Today, Due Tomorrow, Due This Week, and Due Next Week. However, subtasks do not appear in this view accordingly. Could you suggest a way to make subtasks display in the same filtered view?

Hello Ciara, thank you very much for sharing your feedback. Subtasks in Asana don’t automatically appear in your project’s filtered List View because they do not inherit the project, tags, or assignee of their parent tasks; instead, they act as independent tasks. For subtasks to appear in your Due Today/Tomorrow/This Week filters, they must be manually added to the project and have due dates assigned. The workaround is to add the subtasks to your project. Also, to make them appear in your filtered view, you can follow these instructions:

  1. Open the subtask details by clicking the chat bubble.

  2. Click the task actions button (three dots).

  3. Select “Add to Project” from the dropdown.

  4. Type your project name to add the subtask.

  5. Ensure the subtask has a due date set.

Once added, the subtasks will appear in your project’s List View and respond to your date filters just like regular tasks. I hope this helps, Ciara. Enjoy your Asana experience! :asanacurated:
