Within the portfolio view, how do we show a list of completed projects and completion dates? You can do this for tasks within a project, but I can’t see a way of doing it for projects.
Is this really not possible? If so, it’s a glaring oversight. Showing when projects were completed is a very standard requirement in any sort of project management system.
Asana knows when the project was completed - it sends unicorns and such. And it’s shown on the right-hand side of the project overview.
I’ve added you guys to this thread as you had the same question this thread but it was only really answered in terms of showing Completion Date within projects, not in Portfolio view.
Completion at the project level is a status, and the Status column shows the date it was published on, so I feel like you kinda already have this feature (in a way).
That shows “Complete” and the timestamp of when the project status was set to complete. Click on it there and you see the project status browser with the latest and all prior status updates and more detail:
The status is visible in the portfolio for all projects there, and from each project individually (in the project’s Overview tab); I think it’s important to be found in both places.
That doesn’t really work. Because it’s not actually a date field, you can’t sort or filter by it. It only sorts by the “Complete”, “On track”, “At Risk”, etc part. If you are looking at a list of completed projects, the dates are all randomly ordered (see below). This doesn’t help when (say) looking for projects completed last month.
If you could change the behaviour of the Status field so that it sorted by “Complete”, “On track”, “At Risk”, etc, and then Completion Date, that would suffice. But it seems strange to tie the two together rather than store it as a separate field. It would be great to be able to create a chart with the number of projects completed each month, week, etc.
