I shared “my tasks” with someone and they can’t seem to see those tasks.
Am I missing anything?

I figured it out. The person was able to access my tasks but not my projects.
Exactly, sharing My Tasks actually only shares your structure (section, groups, filters) and not the tasks themselves. Which is great because it allows you to keep private tasks.
When we onboard new clients onto Asana at iDO we always make sure they understand the philosophy behind Asana, including this point, and the fact that everything will be easier if all teams (or almost all) are public and all projects within those teams are also public! And remember to always place tasks within projects to make sure they are visible to everyone.
