We use asana to help track prototype parts through production. Our operations manger wants an easy excel sheet or printed list of fields in the project that only relate to him. However, printing doesn’t support the format we want. And exporting to excel doesn’t allow us to only choose the fields that relate to him.
Welcome, @Ashlyn_Casp,
One option (but see Richard’s post for limits) would be the project’s action menu > Export or sync > Sync > Google Sheets (which also works for Excel, I believe, search the Forum for that) to create a live link between the project and the spreadsheet so you don’t need to export regularly:
See Help for syncing which describes both using this for portfolios and projects, but focus on projects.
When you set it up, you’ll see instructions for how to create a tab exactly like your ops manager wants.
Another option would be to use Asana2Go (Disclaimer: I’m the creator).
Thanks,
Larry
Just a note that the sync feature is not natively available for Excel, currently. And the native Google Sheets sync feature is limited to 500 rows (tasks) per project which may be a blocker for some cases. ![]()
Thanks! Updated my post…
