Seemingly no way to trigger a rule when task description is changed/edited?

I’m trying to create a rule that will watch for a task description to be updated and then copy the revised description to a subtask. Is that not possible?

@Bryce_Driesenga, The deltas to description (and task title) are captured in the Activity tab fine print at the bottom of each task thread, in case you might have missed that. These each have a “Show original” link to see the prior version. Might that help?

Thanks,

Larry

Hi, @Bryce_Driesenga .

It’s not possible with the basic rules.

I wondered if it could be done with AI-Studio, but changing the “description” doesn’t trigger the rule in the first place, so the AI can’t be started.

FYI this is available as a trigger in our Flowsana rules.

This can be accomplished using comments not descriptions if what you’re trying to accomplish isn’t currently possible within Asana. If a new comment gets added within said tasks you could create a new subtask based on the new comment added. Just a suggestion :unicorn:
