Scheduling due dates around weekends and holidays

The reality of various countries and companies having different holidays and weekends is very ture so a solution Asana wide wouldn’t work. However, I am curious about the possibility of being able to set “outage” dates within an organization, team, or project.

This would be huge from a project management perspective trying to shift timelines and due dates from a timeline view.

Hi all!

I wanted to circle back to Eli_McArthur’s inquiry from 2023.

Is there a possible workaround when building subtask rules to publish a due date, (ex: 10 days before or after), that can adjust for weekends falling within that timeframe? I have set multiple workflow rules with this due date scenario and would really like to automate this bypass for weekends, if it’s at all possible.

Is it possible to convert this thread so that we can upvote? Currently, experiencing the same instance. I want to be able to schedule tasks # so many days in the future, but I only want the due date to fall on a weekday. For now, +1 on this!

Why not try referring to this?

Holiday/Leave/Block off time - either as PTO, Holiday, or all day task

Holiday/ Leave schedule - It would be great to have a section where you could put in ‘Away’ days for leave or holiday and you can not add tasks on these days or be assigned tasks on these days. Alert will then show. You’d have to make current tasks highlight too if they are in that date range or you cannot put in dates if you have tasks due then. HR integration which does a daily/ weekly call to see any dates scheduled off is next step.

Hi asana team, Will you add a feature that will allow to set other non-working days instead of Saturday and Sunday and mark holidays and vacation times? With the current timeline the estimations are always wrong due to this matter. Thanks, Tomer

This indeed makes serious planning really hard, wasting a lot of time. And after years of no improvement in this matter, I have a feeling the devs just don’t care. Makes me want to move away ftom Asana altogether.
