I am trying to create a rule where the Custom Field “ID” is only created when moved into a specific section. I have an intake form through a 3rd party, where we receive orders. The orders come in as 1:1, but if the order is for the same person, we would like to combine the order and only assigning an order ID number when the order is moved to the section “Order Validated”
The only way to do that is by multi-homing the task to another project (with an ID field) when the order is validated. But don’t add the ID column to the main project, it would number everything
Thanks for suggestion! I really don’t want to have 2 different projects if everything is staying the same besides the ID. 
Hopefully we can get Asana to put on their roadmap!
The 2nd project would never be visited by anyone, that’s a technical project.
FYI you can accomplish this using the Unique ID capability in our Flowsana integration; no need for a second project.
