When I first started using Asana I had a small portable monitor hooked up to the side of my workstation setup, effectively permanently giving me a little 3rd monitor that I could devote to just showing Asana at all times. It was great.
Now that I’ve started a new job, I only have the standard dual-monitor setup, so was trying to figure out this morning where I was going to stick my Asana window so that it can always show but not be in the way of the usual things I keep open on my screen. The result was to anchor it to the bottom right corner of my righthand screen, with the tasks themselves peeking out from behind my Outlook window. I figured I could see all of the other columns once I clicked on the window to begin interacting.
However, it seems like the "Task Name field is locked and can’t be moved. I REALLY need to have that column right-aligned in order to effectively work in my new setup.
I was able to shrink the window to the minimum width and that helps but doesn’t allow me to see the due dates. The Task Name field is wider than necessary, but can’t be resized in this minimum-window-width view. If I could resize the column, this would at least help, if the Task Name field is stuck where it is.
A couple of other small items that are minor annoyances - Is there a way to remove that “Add Field” column? It takes up so much real estate in List View! It also seems that the window can only be resized to a certain height, which is about 2/3 of my screen height. I’d love to know if there’s a way around this so that the window can be made very small.
And maybe this should be a separate post, and maybe I will at some point, but if there was a desktop widget, oh man that would be so great and likely solve a lot of these issues. Or maybe not depending on what it would show LOL. I know widgets exist for the mobile version, but I don’t use Asana for work on my phone so have never used them.
