The “quarter” time measurement in dashboard charts does not correlate to our custom fiscal year schedule, which makes quarterly charts unusable.
Hi @C_R_1, thanks for sharing your feedback with us! The fiscal year currently ties to Goals, but not to the quarterly measurement in Dashboards. As a workaround, you could report by a specific timeframe tied to your fiscal year. I will let you know if this is something we will implement in the future!
Hi @C_R_1 , you could also create a custom field listing the quarters of each year, or a generic one Q1, Q2, Q3, Q4 to apply to a project or portfolio that is for a single year. Applying the values of such a custom field to your tasks or projects will show up in your dashboards within your projects or portfolios, respectively.
If it helps, you can quickly import such a custom field (as well as many others), into your Asana space, using my 🎉 Free Custom Field Templates!
Thanks, Richard. We already have 10+ critical custom fields and don’t want to create another one just for a chart. I’ll use the existing month view for now.
I’m also looking to have my charts follow Australian quarters. Couldn’t this be a board setting?
I’m with C_R_1, not looking to create another field for a basic function.
Hi @Alana_Lopez1 , there is global setting in the Admin Console>Settings>Domain Settings>Time periods but that will only affect Goals. It does not affect charts in Dashboards which is what this feedback request is asking for. (I’ve also voted)
Currently, the only workaround is to create your own custom field as I mentioned above. Understand this is not ideal but it works.
Hi Richard,
Thanks for your quick response. I understand that there is a workaround by adding a custom field.
But it is hardly ideal to add more and more fields to already complex project boards just to capture standard analytical information for our dashboards. So I am just noting my request for a better solution that is native to Asana’s dashboard analytics.
