Is it possible to add an estimated budget amount to the project overview tab and to have that amount displayed in one of the fields when the project is added to a portfolio ??
Welcome to the forum! Asana doesn’t currently support this, you would need to create the field at the portfolio level and manually enter the data for each project. Or, if your project includes detailed line-by-line budget estimates using custom fields, you can use a rollup field at the portfolio level to automatically pull and summarize that data. This approach only works if the custom fields are already set up in each project and are structured consistently.

And if you follow @Christine_Bolton’s good advice to create a portfolio-level custom field, you can also view it in your project. It won’t be on the Overview tab but will be in the Project actions menu > Edit project details dialog.
