I created a task and used the record button icon to record my desktop while in a Zoom mtg (as an attendee, it was not my meeting). When I reviewed the vimeo recording just now there was no sound from the actual meeting that came through. Only the sound of my typing to take notes…Please advise.

it depends on what sound device you selected for the recording, see here:
It might work better though to ask the host to record in Zoom directly and save the recording: How to record a zoom meeting (a step by step guide) | Vimeo
There is also a Zoom+Asana integration
If your host connects that to Asana then the meeting recording could be uploaded there for all participants to access
