I saw this tip in the Ambassador Slack, which makes it look like everyone (regardless of plan) should have access to recording with Vimeo in tasks.

But my team doesn’t have a video recording option showing in our description or comment boxes. Here’s what ours look like:
I thought maybe I needed to add the Vimeo integration, but when I go to the Integrations page on the Asana site and click on “Install Vimeo for Asana,” it just sends me to a help page. strong text
That page clearly says: Video messaging in Asana, powered by Vimeo, is available to all customers and will be automatically enabled by default .
Note the “Record a video” button in the bottom right of the Description box. My team doesn’t have that option, although the message said it had been enabled for all users. How do we get access to that recording button within Asana?
Hi @Susan_Hudson , I believe the Vimeo recording integration is available on Chrome, Edge and Safari, and can only be used by Org members, as noted here.
Perhaps you are using a different browser?
Otherwise you might be a Guest?
I’m using Chrome, and my organization (University Communications at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill) has a paid Asana plan that covers our whole team. It seems we should have access to a feature automatically enabled by default for all customers.
In that case, you may want to try these troubleshooting steps, (particularly try the incognito/private tab) and if you still have an issue, then please create a support ticket, by following the instructions here:
Thanks. I put in a support ticket last week, but the only answers I got were about how to embed a video, not about recording a video. When I pointed that out in my email, no other replies came back. So I’ve put in another one. Hope I have better luck this time!
I appreciate your frustration, @Susan_Hudson . Asana support may be facing a large volume at the moment, however, make sure to not reply with any follow up emails to them until they reply to you, otherwise it will push your case to the bottom of the pile.
OK, mystery solved, thanks to our university’s IT team, not Asana Help (which, frankly, wasn’t). Evidently the only way to access the feature is through logging into Asana online. It’s not available in the desktop app (at least not for us). That would have been a great distinction to make in the announcement of how it was being made available.
