Print a timeline

We are now six and a half years in since the first request, how is the development coming along?

No news so far

I feel I’ve just wasted my time creating a Gantt chart in Asana that I now find I can’t print. Thanks Asana. I’m now looking for alternative software so I can start over.

Welcome, @George_Stuart, and sorry.

The product Instagantt integrates with Asana so you wouldn’t have to throw away your work, and it offers some free capabilities as I recall, perhaps at least one project free.

In case that’s something you might consider…

Thanks,

Larry

Thanks Larry

I was hoping to find a solution in Asana but I see that this feature has been requested many times since 2018, any news on this?

Also wondering this myself! Seems like a pretty simple feature to implement and would make a lot of peoples lives easier!

anything yet on this feature?

I second this question. Trying to use the timeline as a “Run of Show” for the day of an event versus an excel spreadsheet but need to have a printed copy.

1 more Vote for this feature please!
being able to print timeline at different views (weeks/months etc) so it can be included in presentations and reports to client is really a basic project management feature

1 more vote for this feature please!

We also use Airtable and they have recently added an export to pdf and print view for their grid view and gantt view, which are useful.

We prefer Asana for project management, however it can be better to do it in Airtable if printing is a key requirement.

Please add the feature to Asana

A) instagantt is not cleared by our information security team siting reasons

  1. no support available (either on web or phone or partner).
  2. their privacy policy

B) Ctrl + P - doesn’t provide a print as it is showing 1000 + pages to print and that too without gantt chart.

We will not be able to use asana for marketing department if this feature is not provided

How many votes might be needed to get something approved?

How many votes might be needed to get something, like a basic print… print to paper… print to PDF… approved?

It doesn’t work this way, and thankfully because a product team shouldn’t simply implement what has the most votes, they need to take into account their vision, resources, roadmap… Votes do play a role though.

So you are saying you don’t care about the wishes of your paying customers?

Please help us understand what the strategy is behind putting such a wish off for seven years now. It is infuriating to read such a respond without understanding what the reason is behind this. I want to understand this because I don’t want to be angry.

Just to clarify, I do not work for Asana, I am a partner, so my view is not endorsed by Asana. A couple of other Forum Leaders wrote a post about this very topic: 🦄 If Wishes Were Unicorns: Why Asana Might Not Have Implemented that Feature Request (and other thoughts about Asana feature development and product strategy)
