For example I’d like to get rid of Duration to recover some screen real estate, but this response from Asana suggests that it isn’t currently possible:
It will be very useful to add column like %complete so that when you are reviewing gantt chart with the project team you could easily update the progress without going to list view

Please add feature to allow to insert new column in gantt chart … just like we can do for List view

I’d really appreciate this feature too.
I have rules in all my projects to multi-home all tasks, to create one all-encompassing megaboard.
I used this to be able to visualise all important deadlines across multiple projects in one single Gantt view.
If I were able to add the Projects column to this Gantt, I’d much more easily be able to see where each task/deadline came from
The addition of custom fields within Gantt charts would be a huge improvement
