Hi Asana experts! One of my managers would like to see her employee’s My Tasks list, including custom fields. The task list is shared, but she cannot see a very important Custom Field called “Bucket” on the tasks.
I have had the employee add the custom field to the org library.
I had the employee remove the field and then add it back from the org library
We all restarted our Asana apps.
Neither the manager nor I can see the field. And when I go to look at a task in the employee’s My Tasks, I see this error message where the custom field should be.
For privacy reasons Asana does not make custom fields in a user’s My Tasks visible to other users.
While the topic is a bit misnamed (it references Priority but it’s really referring to custom fields overall), I think this is the best thread for you to upvote to support getting that feature added:
@lpb my concern is at their core these two topics are really asking for the same thing, so I think they should be merged so as not to dilute votes. What do you think?
I see your point, but decided that it this request is a first step, and sorting is a second step, and this would valuable even if sorting wasn’t part of it or was added later.
That’s odd because I would swear what you describe is actually the case already. For example when my colleague @Julien_RENAUD is assigned on a task, I used to be able to see fields he only has in his My Tasks (fields were part of the library).
Did this behaviour change with the task pane rework around fields?
