Permissions changing from "can comment" to "can edit" with creating the project from the template

Hi,
I’ve created the project template and add there the project members with different access rights.
The project I created from the template has the same members but with full access rights “can edit”
Steps to reproduce:

  1. Create the new project TestTemplate.
  2. Convert it to the template
  3. Add some members to the template and set to some members the “can edit” access rights and to others “can comment” access rights.
  4. Create the new project “Test project” based on the template “test template”
  5. We can see that all members of the project “Test project” have the rights “can edit”

Browser version:
Firefox 82.0.3

Hi @Sergey_Shiryaev and thanks for the report! This is currently an expected behaviour I’m afraid. We have a #productfeedback thread on this topic if you’d like to learn more (Commentor on Project Template becomes Editor on Projects created from that template). I’ve gone ahead and merged your post with this main #productfeedback thread. I’d highly recommend you to upvote Commentor on Project Template becomes Editor on Projects created from that template by clicking on the “Vote” button in the top right corner of your screen and I’ll keep you posted as soon as I have an update on my end!

Thanks @Marie , I did experience the same thing and was wondering @Emily_Roman @Rebecca_McGrath if this has been reconsidered? Seems like a bug to me rather than something intentional.
