PC Desktop App doesn't show scroll bars when maximized on Board View

When I use the arrows in the top-right to maximize the Asana window, the scrollbar at the bottom of the window is removed. (Or perhaps it is a bug and the window is cut off at the bottom?)

In this mode, I can’t figure out how to horizontally scroll in order to see columns of boards that are off the screen to the right. Are there keyboard shortcuts or other approaches I can use to scroll in the maximized window?

Here is what my maximized window looks like without a scrollbar:

Here is what my non-maximized window look like with a scrollbar:

@anon11225793,

This bug fix is in progress. I’ve merged your post into that existing thread.

Thanks,

Same issue.

Same problem here, Windows 11. Looks like the horizontal scrollbar is hidden behind the Windows Taskbar when the window is maximized.

Hi @lpb, @Kara_Collins and @Avi_Poje, the issue with the scroll bar is still being investigated, but I’ve got an update regarding the chat bot. Our team reached out to our partner and they explained that this might indeed be a security precaution in your organization.

Our bot needs to make a call to a third party tool, and some security teams may prevent those calls, causing the issue. This is however pretty rare.

If that’s your case, we kindly ask you to to provide any errors that you see in your browser console on the support page page. In chrome you can open that view by pressing Option/Ctrl + CMD + J, but that’s different in different browsers. Let me know if that helps!

Thanks for this update on the scroll bar Vanessa.
As for the chat bot, just curious why Asana is making it so difficult to submit and track tickets for support? If someone did not know there was supposed to be a chat bot and needed support, how would they get in contact with support? Can there not just be a general, “Submit Request for Support” or something along those line, somewhere on the support page?
Thank you for your time.

Horizontal scroll bar is missing. Seems like bottom portion of app is behind Windows taskbar when maximized. Tried hiding task bar and Asana app maximizes to fill space past bottom of monitor. No other apps are duplicating this behavior on same PC.

Windows 10 Pro 21H2
Unsure how to find desktop version. Cannot find in any menus.

Briefly describe (1-2 sentences) the Bug you’re experiencing:

Steps to reproduce:

What version of Asana are you using (Basic/Premium/Business/Enterprise)?

Hi @Trey_Thomas, welcome to our Community Forum, and sorry for the trouble. In order to escalate this issue, can you please reinstall the app and let me know if the issue persists? Reinstalling will also make sure that you have the latest version. Thank you!

Thanks, Vanessa. Uninstalled and reinstalled using latest from Asana downloads section. Here is another screenshot with taskbar hidden. This has been an issue through the last 2 updates I believe, perhaps longer. It’s a minor annoyance so I’ve mostly ignored it but wanted to ensure your team is aware

Thank you for confirming, @Trey_Thomas. I’ll escalate this to our Developers now. Once I have any updates I’ll let you know.

Hi @Trey_Thomas, I’ve just noticed that my colleague Emily has already escalated this case since there are similar reports in another thread. I’m merging the topics so we can share the updates in a single place

Wow, I didn’t realize this was a bug issue. Thank you so much everyone for your replies and to the Asana team for escalating the issue! I was using that workaround that you pointed out by manually increasing the window size just enough, but that’s annoying haha first world problems I know! Anyway, thank you!

I have the same issue but on Mac!

I am having this same issue and it’s driving me insane… I can’t make the screen bigger in any way (not only when maximizing the window) or the scroll bars disappear and in smaller view I can’t see anything. I did figure out clicking the scroll button on the mouse worked before finding this forum post, however that is not ideal at all.

Following this so I can see when this bug is fixed!!!

Hi all, thank you for flagging the issue!
In the meantime before it’s fixed, please try horizontally scrolling with Shift + mouse wheel, in addition to Richard’s workaround.

Hi
The horizontal scroll bar on the Asana desktop app is not displayed when the window is fully expanded
and therefore I can’t scroll horizontally on custom fields
