Hey Asana Community!
I am trying to add a Calendar Event from a task.
This is what my task description looks like:
However, when I open the Outlook event, the formatting is different:
Is there a way to keep the format of the task description (line breaks) ?
Hi @AbigailB
Totally get what’s happening here. This is a common issue when creating Outlook events from tasks. Outlook often flattens rich text and doesn’t consistently preserve line breaks or spacing from Asana.
*Add an extra blank line between sections in the task description. Outlook is more likely to respect a full empty line than single returns.
*Use simple bullets or dashes with a space between list items to force separation, like:
Agenda item 1
Agenda item 2
*Keep the description mostly plain text. Things like headings, tables, or mixed formatting don’t translate well to the event body. Then, put the task link at the top so attendees can jump to the task for the fully formatted version when needed.
Not perfect, but these adjustments usually make the Outlook event much more readable. If you want to add your voice, you can also post in Product Feedback here: Product Feedback - Asana Forum
Thank you for the input, @Iren_Vilaniso
I tried those options listed and the Outlook event still transfers like my initial picture shows
