I would love to see Notifications on my home page. What is currently called “Inbox” should be available on the Homepage, preferably with a number or some indication when someone has responded to a task on which I am a contributor or tagged me in any task. If this includes “[Person] marked [Task] complete” that’s okay like the Inbox, that’s fine.
My ideal home page would have My Tasks on the left–preferably overdue and upcoming together rather than separate, but that’s another matter–and Notifications on the right.
It’s just weird that I have to click on the Inbox sidebar link to see activity, and that this links looks the same whether ten people have responded/tagged me or none. I shouldn’t have to dig to see if anything new has happened on Asana.
Note that this forum has the Notifications feature I’m thinking of. My avatar in the top right had the number 2 in a circle on it, like Twitter/Facebook/etc, so I knew someone had replied to one of my posts. I want that for tasks, and I think a Home Page widget like Status Updates/Portfolio/Forms would probably be the easiest way to implement this on your end, without changing anything for users who do not want this feature.
Hi @Travis_Eden,
Personally I’d disagree with putting notifications on the homepage. I’m having trouble as it is because my ADHD brain is drawn to these red and orange dots like a cat to a laserpointer. It is one of the reasons I like my homepage, as it doesn’t pull my attention away from what I had planned.
Anyway, don’t forget to vote for your own feedback.
