What Asana calls an “inbox” is called Notifications on every other platform. “[Person] marked [Task] Complete” is not an inbox thing. It’s really weird to click a sidebar link to see them. I miss things because of this. I want to see if there is anything new for me on the home page.

You’ve already given a great description of your context, what I’d suggest is you create a topic in Product Feedback and suggest how you’d like to see this changed. This will allow others to chime in and vote for this feedback.
Would you for example want a split between inbox and a notification feed? If so, which do you think should go where?
