We make use of several custom fields in our portfolio to identify and sort our projects as well as update other teams on what the current needs are for the project.
I would like to be able to create a rule in the portfolio that would notify a user any time a specific custom field is changed. I have not found this to be an option.
I know that far more can be done when building rules for custom fields inside of projects but I dont seem to be able to build those rules making use of custom fields that are assigned / managed at the portfolio level.
@Eric_Lizotte, It may be that the specific type of custom field you’re trying isn’t supported, but at least some are. For example, here’s a single select custom field in a portfolio:
I recommend searching in English Forum > Product Feedback for a request for each type of custom field you need. If you find a topic, click the Vote button at the top to express your interest, and add a post with your use case if you’re willing. If you don’t find a topic, add one in English Forum > Product Feedback, and again vote for that!
so its a single select field that I have build that I am trying to turn into a notification… I just dont see a “do this” action that would notify anyone or send an email or anything if this single select field in the portfolio is changed
its the DO THIS section that I need more options within
Sorry, @Eric_Lizotte, it wasn’t clear from your original post and I thought it was the “trigger” part you were having trouble with.
Right, those kinds of actions are not currently offered. I recommend you follow my prior instructions to see if there’s already a request in English Forum > Product Feedback to vote on, otherwise add one.
But in the meantime, have you tried turning on this toggle which is available for both single select and multi select?
