Never forget about yourself.

As yearly performance reviews kicks in, I start to panic, and I ask myself…

What did I accomplish this year!!??

My thoughts start to stumble. Where do I even begin? I couldn’t possibly remember the very first thing I accomplished this year. What did even I do yesterday? Is that a bad?

This year really flew by, but when I took some time to sit down and ponder. I see that I cut myself short and I don’t give myself enough credit for all the work that I’ve done. To ameliorate my shortcomings, I looked at all the tools at my disposal and the only thing that came to mind was Asana.

It turned out to be the perfect tool for what I wanted to accomplish, and it aligned well with Asana’s theme about reflection, personal growth, and inspiration for the new year. I made a Team for myself, where I plan to put all my work, certification progress, projects, tasks, accolades if it can go in Asana there will be a place for it in 2026.

And when that special day comes around, I have something to show. I made a Team with me being the only member right now its barebones, but in 2026 it will be filled! I found it difficult to really keep track and find a home to house all my achievements/recognitions in one place, but using Asana has made it seamless.

I even made a section just for my professional development to keep track of my certifications, resume, and SMART goals made for them.

Ready to track your accomplishments in 2026 with Asana?

  • :white_check_mark: All In. Projects, tasks, goals… I’m tracking everything!
  • :hot_beverage: After My Coffee. I’ll start tracking… just not yet.
  • :hourglass_not_done: Retroactive tracker. I’ll update Asana after I accomplish stuff.

While I can showcase the work, I’ve done for my organization one thing I forgot to do is self-reflect and give myself the credit I deserve. Especially when looking forward to 2026 the one thing I’ll remember, is to:

:fortune_cookie: Never forget to do something for yourself :fortune_cookie:

I love this reminder to slow down and actually notice what we’ve done before jumping into the next thing. Well done, @Levar_M!

I also keep a little team in Asana for my personal things, goals, parking lot ideas, and all the small wins I immediately forget about. My memory cannot be trusted at the end of the year, so when that classic “wait… did I actually do anything?” spiral hits, I open my logs and everything suddenly looks very different. It is such a good reality check and a reminder that we’re doing far more than we think.

Us after second guessing our entire year and our Asanas calmly showing the receipts:

I love this idea! Thank you for the reminder of the scope of the applications of Asana in my world! I’m building mine out as we speak. “Jamie’s Productivity Playground.” It’s great that there’s no one way to use Asana and great to hear from others who struggle to find “the” place to hold everything. Thanks!

Terrific post, @Levar_M.

I’m sure you won’t forget about your fine contributions this year to the Asana Forum and being named a Forum Leader!

Thanks,

Larry
