Need Variable Fields on Task Templates

I need my subtasks to inherit the parent task name when the parent task is created with a template. It would be very helpful to my team if the variable fields were available on task templates. Any chance of getting this feature added?

Welcome to the forum @Robin_Moser ,

I’m not sure I follow, and why you’d want this. Isn’t that confusing?

Can you clarify with an example?

Hi Jan-Rienk, I have created task templates for multiple Blog creation tasks. The sub-tasks that are created from the template all show the same task on the team’s “My Tasks” boards. So, for example, I have 24 tasks on my personal board that all say “Review SEO”. I would like for them to show the main task name, so “Review SEO: Blog: Why use Drug Tests in your company”

I am able to accomplish this sub-task naming using a variable within a rule, but the rules are being problematic in other ways. So, if I was able to add a variable in my task template, it would solve my problem.

Hi @Robin_Moser,

I’m not sure I understand the need for this.

Can’t you see the main task’s name in your view?
