Need Asana/Google access under Team Drives!

G Suite has added Team Drive as an option to help teams better manage files. Unfortunately, they do not show up in the search box to attach them to a task. This is a big problem as our basic workflow is to attach google docs to a task to assign work.

Without this integration there is very few ways to integrate true team-based collaboration, without adding moreSeats or adding extra steps to a tool thats supposed to actually increase productivity.

The amount of workaround required for this in many ways nullifies the increase in productivity with productivity loss via having to hire contractors to build what you will not.

I can understand that this is a new feature and that adaptation takes time, but after all of this time having not provided a roadmap is a bad omen for Asana on our end here. I’m sure many of the aforementioned commenters as well as those who are looking to this for a solution agree that this is in many ways a deal-breaker.

We love your service, but integration should be agile and we should not have to post to a forum to know when you are going to adapt standards.

I wish to add our voice to the list here also. The use of Team Drive and linking to Asana Projects / Tasks will assist our productivity and efficiency. Looking forward to it coming onstream Asana!

To be fair to new (and old) users of Asana, these pages that market Google/G Suite integration with Asana should be updated to note the current limitations of using Asana and Google Drive.

+1 mandatory as our org moved to team drive. Could be a reason to leave Asana even after 3 years on it.

@Sara @Alexis, is there an update on this? This is a HUGE hit to our workflow efficiency… which was the whole point of using Asana to begin with.

Please! I will not be able to adapt Asana properly until I can attach files from Google Team Drives!

My company moved all files to Team Drive only to find out we cannot attach to Asana. Please prioritize this issue.

Google has updated the Picker API to support team drives. It still requires some changes on the 3rd party app side but it is now supported.

Using the file picker with Team Drives
