I’m trying to create a rule that when a task is changed from task to milestone or approval custom fields i created are updated and for approvals the task title is updated. However, the rules i’ve created only work if i duplicate the task and/or manually trigger the rule. can someone help? I asked asana support to help to no avail even sent a video of the issues i’m running into .
Hi @Trisha_Travis,
I don’t think the functionality you are asking is available in Asana.
If you could provide more clarification on why you’d want this and maybe an example, that would help us advise on an alternative method.
Also, if we can move this to tips & tricks a lot more people will be able to chime in.
Moving to tips & tricks is fine. and as far as why it’s really to assist the assignee understand at a quick glance the differences for milestones, approvals or decisions needed as we put a prefix on the task titles. additionally, we are leveraging the tabs w/in project plans to easily identify milestones, decisions or approvals.
FYI @Trisha_Travis you can accomplish this with our Flowsana integration, as we have rule triggers for “Task is marked as a milestone” and “Task is marked as an Approval task”.
Thanks for the heads up and insight! I appreciate that flowsana can accomplish this, but really looking for native asana functionality to complete this.
