Native Advanced Gantt Chart & Full Dependency Types (SS, FF, SF, FS)-super gantt

Hi Asana Team,

We love using Asana for our task management, but we are currently facing significant blockers when it comes to project scheduling and timeline visualization. Currently, we are forced to use third-party integrations like Instagantt, but the experience is incredibly buggy, slow, and disruptive to our workflow.

Previously, our team used GanttPRO, which provided a seamless and highly professional Gantt chart experience. We would love to see Asana develop a robust, native Gantt view that matches this level of functionality.

Our Core Problems:

  • Third-party reliance: Instagantt is glitchy and doesn’t sync perfectly, leading to lost data and wasted time.

  • Limited native dependencies: Complex projects require more than just basic Finish-to-Start dependencies.

What we need in a Native Asana Gantt View:

  1. All 4 Dependency Types: Finish-to-Start (FS), Start-to-Start (SS), Finish-to-Finish (FF), and Start-to-Finish (SF).

  2. Lag and Lead Time: The ability to add specific delays or overlaps between dependent tasks directly on the timeline.

  3. Smooth UI/UX: A fast, drag-and-drop interface that doesn’t lag when dealing with hundreds of tasks, similar to the fluid experience in GanttPRO.

  4. Auto-Scheduling: If a parent task moves, all connected tasks (with all types of dependencies) should shift accurately without breaking.

Business Impact: Building a native, advanced Gantt chart would allow teams like ours to keep 100% of our workflow inside Asana, canceling buggy third-party subscriptions and saving hours of manual schedule adjustments every week.

Thank you for considering this!

Hi @Антон_Самурин , I’m not clear from your post if you are aware of Asana’s Gantt view available in projects because you haven’t mentioned it.

I believe it supports all 4 points you are requesting.

No, if you will compare work in gantt pro with asana gantt you will see the difference. In asana gantt you can’t see name of the tasks on gantt, dependency rules don’t work correctly, lags depend on task you move (in gantt pro you can choose lag in days and everything will be move correctly in any situation). In large projects it’s really difficult to manage
