My Transition to the New Side Bar

I agree. Having access to all projects in the sidebar is a must for me. I wish they would add a ‘view all’ as you suggested

This change has really thrown my business for a spin. I run financials for up to 20 different business’s. 18 of the business’s are fine. It’s 2 business’s that are totally different to my others and needed the projects listed under the teams I am looking to set up another two asana counts so I can set them up the way I need since Asana haven’t come out with any real solutions to these terrible changes

@Melinda_Koth if you favorite the team then your project list is one click away, doesn’t it work?

That’s a great suggestion as a workaround, although it also brings up all Archived Projects which in the previous sidebar view were not shown by default, so there are scores of Archived Projects in the Search result that cannot be hidden. Also, in the Search view the list cannot be rearranged, unlike in the previous sidebar view, so the now expanded list of projects (because it includes Archived Projects) is more unruly than before.

It will depend on each user case but the Search suggestion will be very useful to most I’m sure

FYI to all - Alphabetical sorting has been quietly added to the Project tab in the left-hand navigation. here it is possible to show / list ALL projects you have (without showing the Team that they are in)

Thank you for that suggestion. I didn’t realise that you could star Teams. I have now done that and it works. Maybe Asana should of suggested that to their users instead of shutting down the discussions with no solutions

The issue is that it shows archived projects… so I have to click through 500 archived projects until I get to active ones. So unfortunately it is not helpful.

Completely agree. This redesign “lost” a great deal of functionality. Pls revert

@BOSSO, That’s not the case. At least for me in the test I just did. Archived projects are automatically excluded. Toggling their archive state toggles their presence in the sidebar Projects Alphabetical list.

Perhaps consider editing your post to avoid confusing others.

Thanks,

Larry

Thanks for the suggestion @lpb but mine shows archive projects when I toggle from ‘top projects’ to ‘alphabetical’. The sidebar redesign is a giant fail for us and our productivity.

Hi, @BOSSO Could you share the screenshot of your sidebar with alphabetical order? I will also DM you so you can send me the screenshot there as well.

You could add them to a portfolio!

That’s a bias: you see a handful of people expressing discontent on the forum and you conclude the entire user base is against it. I can tell you from seeing comments here and on the Slack that many many users were really happy about the change.

And many, many more were against it.

A year and a half later, it’s still horrible.
