Hi @Kathleen_Rice, there is a way to make it work 
Begin by typing your numbered list items like so:
1. List item one
2. List item two
3. List item three
Then, press ENTER after the first bullet to create a blank new item (will display as number two) like so:
1. List item one
2.
3. List item two
4. List item three
Click on the new blank line item, and convert it to a bullet.
1. List item one
*** List item bullet**
** 1. List item two**
2. List item three
You will notice that the numbered list starts at #1 again after the bullet. To fix this, click on the bullet item, type in some text, then press TAB to indent the item. You should see the bottom two items inherit the correct order from the numbered list above.
1. List item one
*** List item bullet**
2. List item two
3. List item three
You can proceed to add as many bullets as you’d like under each number using this method.
