Hi Community,
Today I’m bringing you an exciting update on the Asana x Slack integration!

No, you’re not having a déjà vu!
Back in May we announced More control over project notifications in Slack, and our Product team kept the surprises coming: @asana now lives directly in your Slack threads, ready to create tasks and answer questions about your work without you ever leaving the conversation! ![]()
What you can do
Tag @asana and ask it to create a task from the conversation around you. Try something like “@asana make a task for this” to pull in the right context automatically.
You can also ask questions about your Asana work, such as:
- “Are we on track for X release?”
- “What’s blocking the launch for X project?”
- “Who owns the migration task for the Slack integration?”
- “When is the approval task for the Slack integration due?”
The bot responds privately in Slack first, so you stay in control of what gets shared back to the channel. It uses your existing Asana permissions, so it only shows you what you already have access to.

How to try it
@asana in any channel or thread and type what you need in plain language. This update is available on all tiers, from Personal to Enterprise+.
If the @Asana agent doesn’t respond when you mention it, please make sure that your Slack Workspace Admin has enabled the new app_mention scope.’
