Hey Asana community! Not sure if this has been asked, but I am still a little confused with this new setting within Portfolios.
I do not have it “on” in this specific portfolio, some projects say shared other say not shared.
Is this basically overriding the individual share settings of the portfolio?
Meaning, the “Editors” have no access to the projects that have not been shared?
Hi @AbigailB, great question!
Project–portfolio access sharing means that when a project admin shares a project with a portfolio, all members of that portfolio automatically gain access to the project and inherit the same access level they have in the portfolio.
So if that setting is off for a project, the portfolio does not override that project’s own sharing. In that case, portfolio editors do not automatically have access to projects that haven’t been shared with the portfolio — they may still see that the portfolio contains projects they can’t access.
