If you have many projects that were all created with a template, but you decide some element of the template needs to be changed, you have to manually update all existing projects to reflect this change.
My use case is for dashboard views in projects. We have changed our reporting metrics and want to modify our standard dashboard view in all our projects to reflect this. It will require manually editing 100s of projects to do so.
For workflows, this problem is solved by bundles - change the bundle and it propagates downwards. There isn’t anything like this for general project configuration, but bundles demonstrate the use case.
There was a forum thread about this but it has been marked closed, seemingly when bundles were released. Can anyone open this thread back up please as it looks like there are a lot of votes/other threads merged into that one? I do not think bundles solves the OP’s question.
