Leaving an organization

I have a lot of questions and I can’t seem to find Support to speak with them directly.

  1. How do I get in contact with support?

  2. I set up a free asana account for a friend. They created an email for me so I would have the same domain as them. Now I need to add other members that do not share our domain and I need to leave the organization. How do I give over my administrative access or change the email associated with the admin?

  3. When they upgrade: who will be counted as a user vs. a guest? Are users only people with the same domain?


Hi @Danielle_Baker, welcome! A couple quick tips:

  • Users are people who have the organization’s domain in their email address. Guests are anyone who does not have that domain.

  • Only users can be admins

  • You can change the admin in the admin panel (click or tap your profile image)

  • Have you tried Asana Support - Help Center • Asana?

Adding to what @TrevorWiser mentioned, please note the Admin role is only available for Premium Organizations. If you are using the basic version of Asana, your Organization don’t have an Admin and you can leave it following these steps. If the other members of the Organization decide to upgrade to Premium in the future they will have the option to have an Admin.
