Issue with converting Workspace to Organization

Hi there,

I am currently running a premium account through my personal email which hosts a Workspace for my eight person office.

I would like to convert that workspace to an organization. I’ve tried this before and was having some connectivity issues with my Google Account. It looks like on one of those previous attempts I accidental created a fresh organization with my work domain. It has no members or projects in it.

I’d really prefer to convert the Workspace I have into an Organization, thus retaining the members and projects, but this mistakenly created organization has our domain and thus I cannot create a new one with it.

Is there a way to delete this accidental organization and start fresh with the domain?

If not, is there a way to change the domain associated with the accidental organization to free up the current one for the new organization? Or a way to easily migrate the members and projects over to the mistakenly created one?

Our support team can help you move your domain and convert your Workspace. I recommend you to contact them and confirm the following information:

  • Domain
  • Name of the Workspace you would like to convert to an Organization
  • If you have a paid plan associated with the Workspace and Organization, make sure the Admins are added to the conversation to speed up the process
  • Confirm the name of the Organization you would like to deactivate
  • You can also share the URL of this thread so you don’t need to explain everything again
