Is there a way to sort tasks in Alphabetical order and change to Assending or Decending?
HI @Melanie_Vaughan! Yes, simply use the “Alphabetical” filter to sort your task list as shown in this article: Using Asana List Layout | Product Guide • Asana Product Guide.
Hope this helps!
The Alphabetical filter doesn’t show up on my view. Only None, Project, Due Date, Likes
I’ve just discovered that the alphabetical option is only available in a project, not in My Tasks or advanced search reports.
The only way I can see around it is to export My Tasks to csv, then filter.
thanks Mark. Most of the tasks I want to sort are in one project, so that’s a great solution. Thank you.
I need this option as well in “My Tasks” We precede all tasks with a company code. It would be nice to see all tasks for one client (unrelated projects) in order so that we can address them easily. Some of us may have 50-100 tasks and it is difficult to scroll through them all to find a needle in a haystack.
It’s great to be able to sort alphetically, but it doesn’t just sort all tasks - if tasks are separated by sections, the sections are just put into the alphabetical list as well.
for example
F section:
D task
H task
A Task
E section
P Task
K Task
M Task
becomes
A Task
D task
E section
F section:
H task
K Task
M Task
P Task
rather than
F section:
A Task
D task
H task
E section
K Task
M Task
P Task
I would be keen to know a workaround for this!
I too would like better sorting tools.
Me too… Alphabetical sort would be great for reports!
Alphabetical is only for projects, it would be really great to have this for reports also, so when you have a massive list it can but some structure to them.
Thanks
You can’t sort at all using the Asana Android app, whether in Task or Project views.
I wish on a night star one day that we can:pray:t4:
