Improve team onboarding and ongoing collaboration with team knowledge bases

Hey everyone,

We’re excited to introduce the new Team Knowledge, designed to make it easier than ever to find and share important information within our team!

Team Knowledge is a centralized hub where you can quickly access and update your team terminology and add definitions of key terms and acronyms used daily.

Some updates included on this launch:

  • A new Knowledge tab on Team Pages where these terms are created and managed.
  • A hovercard that will appear in product when you hover over a defined term.

This feature is also seamlessly integrated with Asana AI features such as smart chat, for instant answers, and easy to search and contribute to. If you have something valuable to add, updating the knowledge base is simple and collaborative.

We’d love your feedback! Check it out and let us know if you have any questions or suggestions

Available on Asana Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+

That could be very useful! Could you walk us through how to use it?

I see the “Knowledge” tab added to our team instances and added a few terms. Then I went to task descriptions and comments trying to get those terms to recognize within Asana and it’s not linking to any kind of hover card.

Does Knowledge work across the organization? Perhaps could anybody in the org can find those terms referenced? Or only if the task is part of a project within that team where the Knowledge is at? Or only if the user is part of that team?

EDIT: Actually looks like this just takes an hour or so to process within Asana! We’re now seeing those hover cards pop up across the organization. Including retroactive. Asana is seeing where we’ve used those terms in previous comments and adding in the hover card.

My feedback: I like the feature, but I don’t think it’s responsible to release it when it fails to work in all task and project Description fields, arguably the most or certainly one of the most needed and expected places users would expect this work.

It’s an additional problem not to call that out in the Help Center article or announcement of the feature. The Help Center article for Knowledge says (emphasis mine):

Entries added in the Knowledge tab can also be found throughout Asana via contextual hovercards, so users can access consistent definitions across Asana quickly and easily.

This image shows it works in a comment but not in task Description (which my cursor was currently hovering):

Thanks,

Larry

Has this feature been rolled out for all users? I wanted to add terms for my team but the Knowledge tab isn’t showing up

Hi @Emily_Vogels, welcome to the forum!

According to the Help Center Article, this feature is Available on Asana Starter, Advanced, Enterprise, and Enterprise+

We’re using it like crazy! It’s a great feature, especially for newcomers

I’m looking forward to this feature. Any time I don’t have to link out to another tool is a plus. We’ve wanted for so long to be able to create evergreen documents directly in Asana.

I just played around with it and the functionality is so basic.. I understand launching an MVP but boy is this rough.
