Images get cut off when copy and pasting into the task description or task comment

Hi, not sure, if this has been logged somewhere else already, but I’d like to report a bug. Currently when you copy and paste an image into a task description or task comment - depending on the image size - the image might get cut off. It doesn’t happen all the time, but in some cases. I.e. I found that if an image is sent to me in the Email body via Outlook and I then copy and paste this image into Asana, it gets cut off. My workaround is to screenshot the image again from the Email body and then paste, because that way, it doesnt get cropped. Has anyone else experienced this? Could this please be fixed?

Hi @Anna-Sophia_Schmidt, sorry to hear about this issue. I can’t seem to replicate this problem on my end. In general, there’s a limit of 100 MB for attachments in Asana. Are the images within this limit? If the issue persists even though the images are within the limit, I’d recommend reaching out to our Support team so they can look into this specific case for you.

Email with image in the Email body. I took a picture of the post heading and sent this Email out.

Screenshot 2:
I copied (right click - copy) this screenshot from the Email and pasted (right click - paste) it straight into the Asana task into the description as well as into a task comment. The image gets cropped badly on the left and right sides.

I’ve tested again in various ways, including sending the screenshot you shared to my Outlook email, copying it, and pasting it into Asana in both a comment and task description, but the images didn’t get cropped at all on my end. :confused:


Unfortunately, our troubleshooting capabilities in the Forum are a bit limited. To escalate issues to our Developers directly from here, we need to be able to replicate the issue on our end (widespread issues). However, our Support team has more tools to look into this for you.

I’d recommend informing them if this happens in different browsers and the Asana app, as this will help them diagnose the issue. Also, please mention in your Support request whether the image is really cut off or if it’s only the preview that doesn’t show completely.
