When you start using Asana AI Studio, you’ll quickly realize one thing: you need to set things up properly in order to use your credits in the most efficient way possible.
Here’s how to make them last (and keep your CFO happy):
Pick the right model
Every AI Studio rule can use a different model.
• Expensive models can be great, but start with the cheapest one.
• If needed, move up until you find the sweet spot between cost and quality.
Disable what you don’t need
Don’t pay for extras you won’t use:
•
Web search (unless it’s essential)
•
Reading attachments (unless truly needed)
•
Loading unrelated project content
Tighten your rule conditions
The more specific your conditions, the fewer wasteful runs.
This works best when your tasks are well-structured:
• Clear task types
• Proper due dates
• Correct assignees
Anything to help you distinguish a task that needs automation from one that doesn’t will be really useful.
Use a “cheap filter” first
If you want to run an expensive automation, use a low-cost rule first to triage tasks. Only send the right ones to the pricier process.
AI Studio is powerful — but only if it’s targeted.
Think sniper rifle, not fire hose. ![]()
