This link from the forum (Users in custom fields (Created by)) implies that there is now support for a “Created by” user field.
However, that field does not appear in my instance (web or Mac app). Is there something else required ?

you can enable this to show in list view as per the screenshots in the post you shared.
So even then it does not show on your end?
I recommend logging out and in again to see if that helps. If it is not showing then please be advised that Asana has not fully rolled out this feature yet.
About 4 days ago it was available to about 50% and it is gradually being rolled out to the rest.
