How do you handle quick task updates in Asana during meetings or deep work?

Hi Asana community,

I’m looking for ways to capture task updates in Asana without breaking focus, especially when updates come up verbally during meetings or while switching contexts.

We’ve tested a few approaches internally, including lightweight voice-based capture tools like Gennie, but I’m more interested in how others here solve this day-to-day.

What workflows, habits, or integrations have you found effective for keeping Asana updated in real time?

Appreciate any insights you’re willing to share.

Hey @Kartikay_Jaiswal thanks for choosing to post to the community forum! Glad to have you
As for myself as I’m usually always in Asana so it’s easy for me to add tasks within Asana when needed I’m not sure how much information you need to input for your tasks, but when I do need to jot down a task or make a note of something in Asana and come back to after my meeting(s) I’m doing it from my computer

Asana has a nice dandy popup I’m able to quickly access without having to leave the application I’m in its a quick popup. I click on the Asana icon write my task(s) enter it in then keep going with my meeting

If this is something that interest you especially if you’ve access to your computer in your Asana settings under “General”“Tray app settings” → verify “Enable Asana app icon” is toggled

If I don’t have access to my computer, I simply use the Asana app on my phone

Sometimes I also use the Teams integration, but that rarely happens unless I’m working specifically within Teams, I won’t be using it, but it’s an option and it’s there if I need it. Just sharing that little information as its an integrated tool check out the following link regarding integrations to see if there’s already a pre-existing tool you already use and integrate Asana in it: https://help.asana.com/s/topic/0TOPc0000003VYoOAM/workflows-and-automation#App-integrations.

I also used Read AI for a bit https://www.read.ai but, it was too much and decided it wasn’t really a need, essentially it can transcript entire meetings. You may or may not find it useful.

Outside of the- I’m sure vast tools nowadays that are out there. Those are the ones I’ve personally used.

Adding comments on a task has always helped me.

Hi @Kartikay_Jaiswal. Sometimes, I just Slack message myself a ton of notes and then later convert the actionable work into tasks using the Slack<>Asana integration: Slack + Asana • Asana

What if you can create a task instantly without delaying it to later?

Personally, I always have my desktop app open and a tab open to “My Tasks.” I add new tasks there casually during the day.
