Looking for feedback : Gennie - A voice based AI assistant for Asana

Hi Asana community,

We wanted to share something we’re currently building and get feedback from people who use Asana every day.

What we’re building

We’re building Gennie, a voice-based assistant that works alongside tools like Asana to make task capture easier when typing isn’t convenient.

The core idea is simple:

  • Tasks and updates often come up during calls, meetings, or quick discussions

  • Those tasks are usually added to Asana later

  • Sometimes they’re delayed, forgotten, or lose context

Gennie acts as an input layer, not a replacement. You speak a task or update, and it gets added to Asana with the right details. Asana remains the system of record.

Why we’re looking into this

Even with all the great features Asana already has, rules, templates, and mobile access, we’ve noticed one thing still trips people up: getting tasks into Asana at the exact moment they come up.

In our own work, tasks often surface:

  • Mid-meeting

  • In quick calls or hallway conversations

  • While we’re deep in something else and don’t want to switch tabs

By the time we come back to add them properly, some details are fuzzy… or the task never makes it in at all.

Where we think this could help

We’re especially thinking about moments like:

  • When someone mentions an action item during a call

  • When you need to add a quick follow-up and don’t want to break focus

  • When context switching feels more expensive than the task itself

That’s where we’re experimenting with voice as a lighter way to capture things.

Would love your honest take

We’re still early and genuinely curious how this matches real Asana workflows:

  • When do tasks most often not get added right away for you?

  • Does voice-based capture sound useful in your day-to-day work, or not really?

  • Are there Asana-native features or integrations you already rely on for this?

Happy to answer questions, explain what we’re thinking, or just hear why this wouldn’t work for your team; that feedback is just as helpful.

Thanks for reading.

Hi Asana community,

We wanted to share that Gennie is now available on the Asana Marketplace and get feedback from people who actively use Asana in their day-to-day work.

What the app is meant to help with

In many teams, tasks and follow-ups come up during meetings, calls, or quick conversations, but they don’t always get added to Asana right away. When that happens, details can get lost, or tasks get delayed.

Gennie is designed to act as an input layer for Asana. Instead of typing, users can speak a task or update, and it’s added to Asana with the right context. Asana remains the system of record. This is just another way to capture work when typing isn’t ideal.

Why we’re sharing this here

Now that the Gennie app is approved and live in the marketplace, we’re mainly interested in learning from real Asana users:

  • When do tasks most often get delayed before they make it into Asana?

  • Does voice-based task capture fit into your workflow, or not really?

  • Are there Asana-native features or integrations you already rely on for quick capture?

Honest feedback, positive or critical, is genuinely helpful for us as we continue improving the app.

Thanks for taking the time to read, and happy to answer questions if anything needs clarification.

Hi @Kartikay_Jaiswal you’ve already made a post regarding your app here Looking for feedback : Gennie - A voice based AI assistant for Asana I will merge your posts.
