How do I shut off weekly portfolio notifications I don't want?

OK so I want to get notifications about some of my portfolios weekly, but not others.

In particular, Dad died in March, and I don’t want to see the portfolio notifications about his funeral anymore.

I went into my account → notifications → settings, and checked the Portfolio Notifications. They’re turned on, which is right, and it says that individual portfolio settings will override default settings.

And yet.

There is today’s email.

So I double-checked – maybe I had left that portfolio on for some reason?

No, it is definitely off.

So what am I doing wrong?

And if you’re from Asana I want to stress that hey, in my case it’s really easy to see why having a portfolio named “Dad” popping up would be emotionally taxing but also I’ve had plenty of work portfolios that were emotionally taxing because of some situation or another and that’s just as serious – but you’re not likely to hear about it from your customers because they don’t want to embarrass themselves or their company by saying “look this was a shit show and I never want to see it again and I have an anxiety attack every time I do”.

So please take this seriously.

And while I’m at it, why does the email include projects that are archived?!?

@anne_gibson,

If you haven’t already, please try this:

Click your profile image > Settings > Notifications > scroll down to Email notifications > scroll down further to Summaries > make sure “Weekly portfolio updates” is turned off:

This is different from the settings that you were pointing to, which are about another kind of portfolio notification: Portfolio status updates.

I believe that will address the issue, but if not, I think you should contact Support.

Regardless, feel free to check English Forum > Product Feedback for any similar requests to vote on, or add your own in that category (and vote) to request improvement.

Thanks,

Larry

Won’t that shut off all my weekly portfolio notifications though?

No, I believe it will only shut off this once-weekly email that you showed in your post, not any other Asana Inbox notifications or other emails; those are controlled by the other settings you showed screenshots of.

Thanks,

Larry

OK met me makes sure I’m being clear. I get multiple portfolio notification as part of the weekly portfolio notifications. I only want to shut certain ones – like the Dad portfolio – off. Will the checkbox you display shut off all weekly portfolio notifications?

No. It will only turn off the following single weekly email you now receive:

Hmm. Profile image → Settings → Notifications takes me to this screen:

I wonder if this has something to do with the level account I have?

“Email notifications” is showing in your screenshot; click it.

This fix turned off all my weekly notifications, so problem is still ongoing

I’m sorry, @anne_gibson. It’s hard to help with things like this async in a Forum. I might be misunderstanding, also. I think you may have to proceed with Support. You could share a link to this thread. If you find I’ve given any misinformation I’d certainly want to improve. How to contact our Support Team.

Thanks,

Larry

You are likely receiving these via Asana’s general “Weekly portfolio updates” digest rather than individual status updates. To disable them, click your profile photo and go to My Settings > Notifications, scroll down to Email notifications, and uncheck Weekly portfolio updates under the Summaries section.

Yes, I am receiving them with the weekly portfolio updates. That’s what I want, weekly portfolio updates – except not with portfolios I have closed or otherwise made it clear I don’t want to see, as per previous posts
