I don’t think there is a native way to do that. But if you use a web browser, the best workaround is using the browser search (CTRL + F on Windows)
The project will open on its default view (whatever view is currently configured as default), but you can change the default view for each project
This method doesn’t work as there are too many tasks. The gigantic list isn’t displayed all at once but loads progressively as you scroll.

I was actually hoping to avoid altering the default display.
Overall, this completely devalues the ability to visually edit. I want to transfer a large number of subtasks to another task. This can be done quickly with visual editing, but it requires having few tasks. Otherwise, you simply can’t find the tasks in the list for visual editing.

Looking to check-in on this topic. Finding a specific Task in a Project List View or a specific Project in a Portfolio List View seems to be a continual challenge. We are using the app, so Ctrl-F only puts you back into the Search. I’m amazed that everyone doesn’t have this challenge so it leads me to think there is something I’m missing.
How does one easily find a specific project in a long List View in a Portfolio while staying in that List View (ie.- not searching and going somewhere else)?
Thanks for any updates!
By using the Asana browser version! (Sorry, that was mean; just teasing.) I agree it’s a shortcoming of the desktop version…which I don’t use!
Thanks,
Larry
Ha! Good one. I just recently got convinced to use the app. Welp, at least I know that I’m not overlooking some obvious solution. So weird more people don’t struggle with this.
Oh well, onward…
