I’ve created simple rules to run for “My Tasks” board to have some organization. For some reason the rules are running and reassigning certain tasks back to me when they were originally tasked to someone else. I tried deleting the rules and readding them to my customization. Any suggestions?
Hi Diane! If the rule runs on “tasks and subtasks” this problem occurs. To fix: Open the rule in your MyTasks, click the settings wheel on the top right, and toggle the blue radio button to tell the rule to run on tasks, NOT tasks and sub tasks. Then save the rule. This quirk is something I’ve seen pop up with several of our clients. Hope this helps! - Rebecca, 21 Knots

To add to @Rebecca-21Knots 's post, which has the right advice: the explanation is a little complicated but this typically happens when you have a “move to section” rule in your My Tasks and that rule is set to run on subtasks. What then happens is when the rule goes to move the subtask to another section, it has to add the subtask to your My Tasks by assigning it to you, because in the Asana architecture in order for a task to live in a particular section, it has to be assigned to that project.
