Welcome to the Forum @Michael_Twillman and I’m sorry to hear you are running into this issue.
This is actually a Bug our Team is currently working on. I’ve added your report to the Bug task and I’ll make sure to keep you posted as soon as I get an update from the Team.
Thank you for taking time to report it! Have a nice day!
Hello all,
The Asana widget stop working properly without apparent reason.
The widget for my main project ‘To Do’ is always blank while widgets for other projects work well.
I’ve tried to refresh, log out, delete the app, reboot, reinstall, clear all cache files, authorize all permissions.
All widgets for other apps and other Asana projects work well.
Phone: Xiaomi Note 7 on Android 9 PKQ1.180904.001
App: Asana 6.38.5
How can I get the widget working again?
Thank you
I took a look into your account and from what I can see you’re using an old type of space called “Personal Projects”. Unfortunately, we do not support Personal Projects anymore and recommend all our users to move to a personal Workspace instead. Here is a thread on this topic from the Forum: Differences between Personal Projects & other Workspaces (free version). So the best advice I can give you is to create a brand new Workspace in your account and to transfer all your projects from your Personal Projects to your new Workspace. You should have no problem using the Android widget.
PS: I’m moving this bug to #bugs:resolved-bugs since we don’t support this type of space anymore, but feel free to reach out if you have any follow-up questions!
That is a bit odd as I just created this Asana account in Jan 2020, the name ‘Personal Projects’ it’s a name I wrote manually and I have all functionalities as in other workspaces.
For testing purposes I’ve created a new project called ‘Pedro Subtil’ and both projects look exactly the same as you can see on the screenshot below.
If creating a new workspace fixes the problem I’m more than happy to do it, just one question, what’s the best way of transferring projects from one workspace to another?
Thanks for getting back to me @Pedro_Subtil and apologies for the mix up there, the fact your Workspace was called “Personal Project” sent me down the wrong road!
The issue you’re describing sounds very much like Google Pixel 3 Widgets No Longer Working. i’ve added your report to the bug we filed for this issue and merged this thread with the exiting thread we have in the Forum on this topic. @Natalia or I will make sure to keep you posted on this thread as soon as we have an update!
Just a quick note to let you know our team has pushed a fix for this issue. The fix will be live with the next Android release (6.39.4), which should hopefully be out in the next couple of days. Marking this thread resolved, but please let me know if you continue running into trouble after the next update.
The widget isn’t working properly still. If I choose ‘Sort by: None’ it shows the tasks but if I choose ‘Sort by: Due date’ the tasks disappear.
Are there any plans to fix this issue? Not being able to see my tasks sorted by ‘Due date’ defeats the purpose of the widget as I’m not able to see which are my daily tasks.
Thanks for the report @Pedro_Subtil and @Michael_Twillman, I’ve escalated the issue to our team and will keep you posted here as soon as I have an update!
