Get a notification when the daily hour capacity has been reached in Workload

Is there a way to prevent exceeding the maximum workload (in my case 8 hours) at one day? So for example: in the workload-overview, sometimes the daily hours can run up to 10 or 11 hours. A way to prevent this is when you get a notification when the daily hour capacity has been reached. And if so, you (or someone else) no longer can add any tasks on that day. In stead of letting the workload-bar turn red. So it’s more of a precaution.

Hi @Manouk_van_Dijk, welcome to the Asana Community Forum!

As it stands, it’s currently not possible to limit the number of tasks you get assigned once you reach your daily capacity. Workload allows you to see when the capacity was exceeded so you can drag and drop tasks to split the work: View Your Team's Workload in Asana | Product Guide • Asana Product Guide

I’ve gone ahead and moved your thread to our #productfeedback category and slightly edited the title to make it more discoverable for other members that would like to support this request! Thanks for sharing your feedback!

Hello, I would be also happy for this kind of notification. E.g. I have a custom field for the “estimated hours for the task” and I would like to notify assigner that this colleague already had more than 40 hours estimated for this week and that it is not a good idea assign this for this week. Thank you.

Hi @Emily_Roman - I was hoping to see if there is any update on this as a potential feature in the future re: alert/notification/restrictions in Asana when someone exceeds their capacity in Workload. Thanks for any new info.

I would also love this feature. I don’t think rules are available in portfolios yet, but something like sending a slack channel notification when someone’s capacity is exceeded would be useful.

Hi, do we have an update/new feature for this request? Get a notification when the daily hour capacity has been reached in Workload.
