Form Multiselect field - Rule to notify the admin regarding the unselected Option by the user

Dear Sir/Madam,

I am currently working on a project that involves a form with a multiselect option. The multiselect option list consists of approximately 100 options. The project, known as LMV check list, is specifically designed for LMV drivers to complete the form and select the appropriate options from the checklist. For instance, Option 1 - Oil level, Option 2 - Battery power, and so on. On the day the driver fills out the form, if the Oil level is not satisfactory, they will not check the corresponding checkbox.

In this particular scenario, I am seeking a method to notify the assignee of the task about the options that were not chosen by the user.

Is it possible to establish a rule for this?

You may suggest using a single select dropdown with “Yes” or “No” options for each option instead of a multiselect. However, this approach is not feasible for a comprehensive checklist that requires the creation and mapping of numerous custom fields. I kindly request you to provide me with a progressive solution.

It’s not possible because the choices for a multi-select rule condition are only:

However a workaround would be to create rules for sets of the options, for example 10 rules each covering 10 options thus covering all 100 of the ten rules and use highlighted choice above: “[multi-select field] doesn’t contain any of” and make the rule action add a comment listing those ten and saying to examine the field values to see which exact ones of the 10 are unchecked.

May I move this thread out of this private category so 600k+ others can benefit from it?

Thanks,

Larry

Can u mention the Exact action item I need to put in Rules. I got the trigger point , little bit confused about the Action.

Say your multi-select field is Social Media. Instead of 100 choices, this example only has 4. So I’ll make two rules each cover batches of two. Here’s the full rule, followed by two detailed shots of the first branch “If” and “Action:”
