Actually that’s true - it is possible in Asana. The illustration above, though, is for clearing a custom date field; to clear the due date, use:
Thanks, @Phil_Seeman, I misread!
Hi @Phil_Seeman and @lpb, thank you very much for your messages
I’ll definitely create a request on the Feedback portal. Flowsana is an awesome tool
Thanks to you both, I managed to create the rule directly in Asana. I’ve only a premium account, but I won’t use this rule more than 250 times a month.
Have a great day, and thanks again for your help
@Phil_Seeman I just started working with Flowsana email notifications. Is there a way to have the field merge not show up in the actual message when the field is blank? I am finding that the field name is in the actual message which may cause confusion.
TY
Hi @Yvette_Ledesma,
That doesn’t sound like something it should be doing. Can you go to a task where it left in the field name, use the “Copy task link” option on it, and send that task link back to us here? We can then take a look and see what’s going on. Thanks!
@Phil_Seeman sure! Happy to!

Thank you for your ongoing support and feedback—it’s what drives us to continually improve Flowsana for you.
Support for custom task types
Flowsana now includes full automation support for custom task types: you can reference custom types and their custom statuses in Flowsana rule triggers, conditions, and actions.
Triggers:
You can trigger automations based on a task being created as or changed to a particular custom type, or a particular custom status.
Conditions:
You can filter automations to only run if a task is a particular custom type, or is a particular custom status.
Actions:
You can have an automation set a task to be a particular custom type (something that Asana rules cannot do!), or set a task as a particular custom status.
Wow… Can’t wait to try this out. @Phil_Seeman …
New to Flowsana and desperate for a few solutions that are critical to managing my workflow without losing my mind:
-
When a task status changes in Project A, I need to automatically create a new project from a template. The new project must be named according to specific text found in the name of the particular task that triggered its creation.
-
The project template needs to function so the project due date will auto-populate the due dates of each and every subtask within the project. The end result needs to be that every project automatically created will have a different name with identical tasks and subtasks each due based upon the specific project’s variable due date.
- All new projects created this way need to also land in a separate Project B that serves as a dashboard/hub for this bucket of work.
- This all needs to happen with as little manual interaction and as few steps as possible.
How does Flowsana achieve this?
Great to hear you’re using Flowsana! While I like to mention here in the forum when it can help people meet stated needs, we try to keep this forum focused on Asana support; for detailed Flowsana support conversations, the best thing is to contact us with these questions and we’re happy to answer; thanks!
