Currently, the actual time tracking stopwatch in Asana is only visible within the Asana interface. It would be a valuable productivity enhancement if the stopwatch could be detached or “float” as a persistent overlay on the desktop—similar to picture-in-picture video or a sticky widget.
This would allow users to monitor and control their time tracking while working in other applications, such as email, design software, documents, or development tools, without switching back to Asana.
Benefits include:
- Improved focus and task time awareness
- Reduced context-switching
- Better support for deep work and accurate time logging
Bonus points if it can:
- Be dragged/resized
- Be pinned to stay on top of other windows
- Include quick pause/resume buttons
This enhancement would streamline time tracking workflows and make it easier for teams to log accurate time while multitasking across platforms.
